First thunder heard in my area
március 20, 2009 Hozzászólás
On 20th of March, 2009, the I heard the first thunder coming from a big snow storm, during I spent the afternoon at my grandparents at the District XVII (XVII. kerület) in Budapest. The thunder was produced by a cloud to cloud lightning. Snow thunderstorms are very rare in Pécel, so I didn’t expect what was coming and there’s no recordings of the storm of me, but the radar and lightning maps says there were lightning activities in the large cloud.
In the last three days, there were many large snowfalls from cumulus clouds countrywide. Sometimes graupel, sometimes large snow flakes fell from the sky. These phenonemas tell me that the summer of this year will be stormy – more stormy than 2008.
Red spots on the lightning map show the cloud to cloud lightning activity.
Are these phenonemas the signs of the global climate change?
It was only 7 degress centigrade but what could happen in 30 degress centigrade but in the same weather conditions in Budapest? Supercell with powerful tornado?
